India a promising destination for Endoscopic Nasal Septoplasty - Video

India is a promising destination for Endoscopic Nasal Septoplasty because it is available at various hospitals of Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai and New Delhi at a reasonable price.

Endoscopic Nasal Septoplasty in India is available at various hospitals that boast of highly skilled work force of medical practitioners and top notch health care facilities. In addition to the price, what attracts patients to India is the abundance and efficiency of private health institutions with state-of-the-art technology and qualified medical and service personnel. Another reason for the popularity of endoscopic nasal septoplasty in India is the use of contemporary methods by the Indian doctors during the surgery.

Endoscopic nasal septoplasty is a corrective surgical procedure done to straighten the nasal septum, the partition between the two nasal cavities. Ideally, the septum should run down the center of the nose. When it deviates into one of the cavities, it narrows that cavity and impedes airflow. Nasal obstructions caused by serious deviations frequently lead to chronic sinus problems. Turbinate reduction may also be advised to further enlarge the nasal cavities. If turbinate resection is indicated special care should be taken to avoid over-resection leading to Empty nose syndrome.

Symptoms for nasal septoplasty

  1. Fever of 101 °F or more
  2. Headache
  3. Vomiting
  4. Diarrhoea
  5. Sun burn like rash
  6. Chills
  7. Dizziness and fainting.

Causes of nasal septoplasty

Before nasal septoplasty the patient’s nose will be packed loosely with cocaine-soaked pledgets to maximize the decongestive effect and then injection the injection is given. The doctor may then use a thin, lighted instrument (endoscope) to look at your nasal passages and to see the shape of your septum.

Procedure

The septum and nasal passages are lined with a layer of soft tissue called the nasal mucosa. To repair the septum, a small cut will be made in the skin over the septum inside the nose to separate the mucosa from the underlying cartilage and bone. The mucosal lining of the septum is detached from the cartilage and bones of the septum. The surgeon will then straighten out the cartilage and move it back into the middle of the nose. Further back, the septum changes into bone, and this may be crooked. The surgeon will remosve small pieces of bone to make it straight again. The cut inside the nose will be closed with stitches which will dissolve on their own and do not need to be removed. Plastic splints and gauze packing soaked in Vaseline will then put into the nose to keep everything straight and stop any bleeding. These splints / packs have a straw that allows the patient to breathe from the nose and makes swallowing much easier. There are no external bruises or swelling of the eyes because the outer nasal bones are not broken or interfered. The nasal packing and splints will be removed on the second morning after your operation by the nurses on the ward.

In a number of Indian metro cities, the hospitals are modern and feature state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment for the treatment of endoscopic nasal septoplasty. Many of these hospitals are staffed with English-speaking physicians and medical personals to assist the patient. The main reason for the popularity of endoscopic nasal septoplasty in India is the cost that averages less as compared to the western countries.
